Poolside Luxury on Dubai's Coast

W Dubai

Dubai, UAE

Set on the West Crescent of Palm Jumeirah, W Dubai – The Palm brings the energy of Dubai to a beachfront resort setting. The hotel opened in February 2019 as the first W Escape in the Middle East, with the Arabian Gulf on one side and views towards the Dubai skyline on the other.

The hotel has 349 rooms and suites, many with private balconies and views across the sea, Palm Jumeirah or the city. Its design is bold and playful rather than traditional. Shapes inspired by the desert, the coastline and Dubai’s modern architecture appear throughout the building, creating a hotel that feels closely connected to the city around it.

Life at W Dubai – The Palm is built around its outdoor spaces. Guests have access to a private white-sand beach and the WET Deck, an adults-only pool area designed as a social space during the day. Higher up, SoBe Rooftop Lounge offers wide views across the Arabian Gulf and the city, making sunset one of the hotel’s main experiences.

Food is also an important part of the hotel. Among its restaurants is Akira Back, known for modern Japanese and Korean-inspired cuisine, alongside a wider choice of restaurants, lounges and bars spread throughout the resort. The idea is less about creating a quiet, traditional luxury hotel and more about combining food, music, design and the beach in one place.

The outdoor furniture follows the same idea. Vondom appears in selected exterior areas of the hotel, including around the pool, with pieces from the Vela, Faz and Vases collections. The furniture adds clean, modern shapes to the terraces without becoming the main focus of the space.

What makes W Dubai – The Palm stand out is the way it brings together two sides of Dubai. It has the relaxed feeling of a beach resort, but it still carries the energy, design and social character of the city. From the pool and rooftop to the restaurants and rooms, the hotel is designed to make its location on Palm Jumeirah part of the experience.
