Shipping policy
Shipping Policy
Thank you for shopping with Mibu. Because most of our collections are made to order rather than held in bulk warehouse stock, our shipping timelines work a little differently than a typical fast-fashion or small-goods store. Please read this policy carefully before placing your order. If anything is unclear, contact us at: office@mibu.design and we're happy to walk you through it.
1. Order Processing & Lead Times
Most Mibu furniture is manufactured to order in Italy/Spain, so your item is built after you order rather than pulled from a shelf. Estimated production and processing times by collection:
- Vondom: min. 2 weeks (for products made with simpler materials and without fabric components), max. 6 weeks (for products made with materials that are more complicated and require a longer time to produce)
- In-stock / ready-to-ship accessories: 72h
These lead times begin once payment is confirmed (and, for made-to-order pieces, once any fabric/finish/color selections are finalized) and run separately from carrier transit time below. Lead times may extend during factory closures, peak spring/summer season, holidays… — we'll notify you if your order is affected.
2. Shipping Methods & Costs
We ship across Slovenia, Croatia & Italy. Depending on the size and weight of your order, it will ship one of two ways:
Parcel delivery — for smaller accessories and lightweight items, shipped by courier GLS directly to your door. No signature required unless noted at checkout.
Freight/pallet delivery — for furniture pieces, shipped palletized by freight carrier. Standard service is curbside delivery: your order is delivered to the nearest accessible point at your address (driveway, building entrance, or curb) — the carrier will not carry items into your home, garden, or upstairs. Two-person unloading is not included.
White-glove delivery (optional upgrade) — available in Slovenia, Croatia and Italy for an additional fee which varies depending on the size, weight, of the product as well as the place to which the product has to be delivered to (e.g. delivery to the 6th floor of an apartment building has a higher cost than a singler floor house delivery). The delivery includes: carry-in, unpacking, placement in the room of choice, and assembly of the product.

3. Trade & Bulk Orders
Mibu works with architects, interior designers, hospitality groups, and real estate developers ordering in larger volumes. If you're placing a trade or bulk order, freight scheduling, palletization, and delivery windows are arranged directly with our team rather than through standard checkout — contact office@mibu.design and we'll coordinate a delivery plan and quote for your project.
4. Order Tracking
Once your order ships, you'll receive a confirmation email with tracking information via carrier's tracking portal or a link from our team. For freight/pallet deliveries, the carrier will typically call or email to schedule a delivery appointment before arrival — please make sure your contact details are correct at checkout.
5. Delivery Day — What to Expect
- Someone must be present to receive and sign for freight deliveries; parcel deliveries do require a signature.
- Please inspect the packaging and item(s) before signing the delivery receipt or bill of lading. If you notice visible damage to the packaging or product, note it in writing on the delivery paperwork and take photos before accepting — this protects your ability to file a claim.
- Clear the delivery path (driveway, entrance, stairs) in advance. Extra fees may apply for difficult access, stairs beyond ground floor, narrow streets requiring a smaller vehicle.
6. Delays
While we aim to meet the lead times above, made-to-order furniture manufacturing and international freight are both subject to delay from factors outside our control — factory backlogs, customs hold, weather, and carrier disruptions among them. We'll proactively email you if your order's timeline shifts by more than 2 weeks. Orders placed during peak season/holidays may take longer than the estimates above.
7. Damages, Shortages & Shipping Issues
If your item arrives damaged, defective, or incomplete, contact us within 14 days of delivery at office@mibu.design with your order number and photos of both the damage and the packaging. We will arrange a repair, replacement part, replacement item, or refund depending on the issue — see our Return and refund policy for full terms. Damage reported after this window may not be eligible for a claim, as freight carriers require prompt reporting.
8. Address Changes, Missed Deliveries & Storage
Because freight deliveries are scheduled in advance, changes requested after an order has shipped may incur a rescheduling or redelivery fee is quoted depending on the situation. If a scheduled delivery is missed and the item must be returned to a local depot, storage fees which are quoted depending on the situation may apply before redelivery is arranged.
