Reflections in the Alps: An Infinity Pool Escape

Alps Lodge

Fiss, Austria

Set in Fiss, in Austria’s Tyrol region, Alps Lodge sits just a few steps from the cable cars of the Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis ski area. Surrounded by mountains and open countryside, the hotel is built around one of the main reasons people come here in the first place: spending time outdoors.

In winter, the location gives guests easy access to the slopes, while summer brings hiking, biking and long days in the mountains. The hotel makes the most of these surroundings with balconies, terraces and large outdoor areas that keep the alpine landscape close throughout the stay.

One of the most distinctive parts of Alps Lodge is its Infinity Sky Pool, set above the rooftops of Fiss. From the water, guests can look out across the village and towards the surrounding mountains. The hotel also includes the Sky Lounge, Sky Relax Lounge and Morning Lounge, creating different spaces for breakfast, rest and time away from the slopes.

The rooms and suites follow the same relaxed approach. Many include panoramic balconies or terraces, while larger suites add separate living areas and extra wellness features. Wood and natural textures appear throughout the interiors, but the overall look moves away from the traditional mountain hotel style. Instead, Alps Lodge mixes alpine materials with a more playful and contemporary approach to design.

That modern character continues into some of the shared and outdoor spaces. Vondom has also been part of the furnishing of Alps Lodge, supplying selected lighting and decorative pieces for the property. Collections including Adan, Bloom, Forest, Peacock and Vases appear within the project, adding modern shapes and light to the mountain setting without changing the overall character of the hotel.

What makes Alps Lodge interesting is this mix of experiences. It is clearly a mountain hotel, shaped by skiing, nature and the landscape around Fiss, but it does not rely only on traditional alpine design. The rooftop pool, modern rooms and carefully chosen furniture give the property its own personality while the mountains remain at the centre of the stay.
